Top 5 Reasons to Choose GAA

1. Curriculum:
Gilbert Arts Academy has a rigorous, content-focused curriculum that is brought to life by highly-qualified, caring and dedicated teachers.  To prepare and challenge our students, GAA uses the Core Knowledge Language Arts Curriculum and the Envision Math Curriculum.  CKLA immerses students into rich content while teaching subject area standards.  The Envision Math Curriculum takes students through the stages of mathematical learning while focusing on the why behind the math and not just focusing on memorization of skills. Put these two together with a classroom that integrates the Arts throughout the curriculum and you get students that are excited about learning!

2. Character:
Gilbert Arts Academy focuses on 6 pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Caring.  These character traits are explicitly taught, modeled and celebrated.  A Positive Behavior Support and Intervention program is also utilized to support students in demonstrating wanted behaviors.  Students that consistently demonstrate proper school and class behaviors and display the 6 character traits are rewarded with Student of the Month and STAR parties.

3. Creativity:
Gilbert Arts Academy works to foster students’ creativity and use this creativity to enhance all subject areas and allow students to demonstrate what they know in a variety of ways.  Teachers at GAA integrate Arts into the classroom on a daily basis to engage students in lesson and increase content retention.  In addition to being exposed to the Arts in their classroom, students at GAA, PK - 6th grade, attend both Music and Art class once a week.  In addition to that, 3rd - 6th grade students participate in Fine Arts Focus Friday by attending an additional Arts class with a rotating focus each quarter.  These Fine Arts Focus classes culminate with either a performance or exhibit for students to show off their talents.

4. Community:
Gilbert Arts Academy is a small school with a family feel.  Teacher and staff know all of the students.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to participate in the school curriculum and activities.  The school’s PTO is highly active, planning and carrying out events for the school all year long.  GAA also strives to get out into the community by participating in many community service projects and community events throughout the year.

5. Growing And Achieving:

At GAA we are always Growing And Achieving!  Teachers and students both are striving to improve themselves.  Students are supported in achieving the high expectations set by their teachers through pull-out instructional support and after school tutoring.  Gilbert Arts Academy is committed to constant reflection and improvement to ensure that all students achieve their full potential.
