As a charter public school, we are pleased to offer you a free and quality educational choice. Let’s work together to achieve excellence!
What is the cost of tuition?
Gilbert Arts Academy is a public charter school for grades K-8 and there is no cost for tuition in those grades. The Four-Year-Old Kindergarten Readiness Program is not funded by the State of Arizona and is a private-pay program.
Are your teachers certified?
All of our teachers are certified by the state of Arizona, possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (several hold master’s degrees), and are designated Appropriately Qualified by federal guidelines.
Are you an accredited school?
Yes! Gilbert Arts Academy received its accreditation from Cognia, which is nationally recognized.
Do you offer tutoring outside of school hours?
Yes we do. Teachers offer tutoring after school.
Are you a uniformed school?
Yes, our students wear a uniform. Pants, shorts or skirts are khaki or black, and shirts are solid color red, black or light gray polos.
Is there a library?
Yes — our PTO worked very hard to develop and organize our library, officially opened by the Mayor of Gilbert in October 2010.
Do students use computers at school?
Gilbert Arts Academy has 9 Chromebook carts — enough Chromebooks for each student.
Do you have a pre-school on campus?
We have a premier Kindergarten Readiness Program for four-year-olds, preparing them for a wonderful kindergarten experience.
Is your school strictly academics?
While we are proud of our strong academic core, we also integrate music, drama, art and physical education into the program to ensure we expose our students to culture, healthy living, and a well-rounded education.
Before and after-school care?
Mustang Corral is available every school day from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (with school in the middle).
Extra-curricular activities?
Our Mustang Club offers a variety of activities after school including arts and crafts, science, sports, dance, karate, yoga and more.
Do students take an active role in the community?
Yes indeed! Through community service, students have donated to the American Heart Association, collected for the local food bank and disaster relief funds, and visited the nearby senior center for reading, music and drama.
School lunch program?
Our school participates in the National School Lunch Program, and hot meals are catered in for students who order from the lunch menu.
How can parents get involved?
GAA has an active Parent Teacher Organization that regularly contributes to school projects. All parents are encouraged to join. To volunteer regularly, contact Ms. Archie at kyla.archie@leonaschools.com.
