A Quality School
Gilbert Arts Academy is a K-6 public charter school. Like a traditional public school, there is no tuition fee; we receive our funding from the state of Arizona. Our students take the same state tests as students in public schools, but the school is held accountable to the state, to the Leona Group, Inc., and its governing board. The success of our students is reflected in the school's state and federal educational reports. We are proud to have been an excelling school for the past two school years!
With the start of the 2009-2010 school year, we introduced our Kindergarten Readiness Program. This private program is specifically tailored to the needs of 4-year-old children who will be turning five (5) before August 30. The program was developed by extensive research and collaboration between administration and kindergarten teachers to identify the skills children need to ensure kindergarten success. Use of complementary curriculum ensures the transition to kindergarten is accomplished with ease. Our first year with the program appears to be a huge success. Children are learning, having fun and have adapted well to a school environment.
