Age Requirements:

Children must be 4 years old by August  31 to enter the 4 year old kindergarten readiness program. Children must be 5 years old before August 31 for entry to the kindergarten class.  Enrollment packets for all grades are available at the front desk. 

New Third Grade Retention Law:

House Bill 2732 requires school districts to retain students in third grade if they score at "Falls Far Below" on the AIMS reading test.  This requirement doesn't go into effect until school year 2013-14, however, the students impacted are those who begin kindergarten after the 2010-11 school year and we are required to notify parents of this impending requirement.  The Bill includes many stipulations regarding students who may be exempt from the requirement, parents' right to appeal and obligations of the school for students who may be in danger of failing as a result of this rule.
