Mrs. Black • grade 3
Mrs. Black graduated from Brigham Young University then received her Masters Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University in 1996. This is will be her second year as a 3rd grade teacher at Gilbert Arts Academy. She previously taught 5th grade for 8 years at Kyrene de los Ninos School in the Kyrene School District. A rollover car accident took her out of the teaching profession for several years, however, after many surgeries and intense physical therapy she is thrilled to be doing again with what is dear to her - teaching!
Mrs. Black has been married for 37 years. She has 5 children and almost 12 grandchildren. She enjoys researching her family history from Finland, cake decorating (gingerbread houses are her specialty!) and working with people. From Mrs. Black "It is a pleasure to be at such a fine school with your children."
