A Quality School

Gilbert Arts Academy is a K-6 public charter school. Like a traditional public school there is no tuition fee; we receive our funding from the state of Arizona.  We are also accountable to the state for ensuring our curriculum meets the state standards for each grade level. Our students take the same state tests as students in public schools but  the school is held accountable to the state, to the Leona Group, Inc., and its governing board. The success of our students is reflected in the school's state and federal educational reports. We are proud to be an excelling school!

With the start of the 2009-2010 school year, we introduced our Kindergarten Readiness Program.  This private program is specifically tailored to the needs of four (4) year old children who will be turning five (5) before August 30. The program was developed by extensive research and collaboration between administration and kindergarten teachers to identify the skills children need to ensure kindergarten success.  Use of complimentary curriculum ensures the transition to kindergarten is accomplished with ease.  Our first year with the program is appears to be a huge success.  Children are learning, having fun and have adapted well to a school environment.

Gilbert Arts Academy is a family-oriented, small-school environment. Class size is generally smaller than a public school enabling teachers to provide more individualized attention to students. We use a stringent hiring process to ensure our teachers and staff are not only highly qualified but possess the qualities necessary to nuture and develop respect, responsibility, integrity and leadership in our students. Extensive research by corporate and school curriculum experts ensures our program and curriculum encompass not only skills to meet state standards, but are also academically well rounded, engaging and will challenge students to exceed.  Tutoring is also offered either before or after school to students who need additional help.
