A reminder from Ms. Hay; this week is week 4 of mustang club and all mustang clubs are running this week. Week 6 will be the last week of mustang club activities for this school year. Please check your child's backpack for important information on AIMS and Stanford 10 testing taking place in April. You can also check the information on the 'Schedule' section under the 'Resources' tab, click here to be redirected to that page, or call the school office for more information. McDonald’s restaurants are offering Arizona students in grades 3 through 8 taking Arizona’s Instrument To Measure Standards (AIMS test), a free breakfast on April 16 and 17, the first two days of testing. The breakfast includes an Egg McMuffin®, Apple Slices, and a choice of 1 percent milk or fat free chocolate milk or a small Minute Maid® orange juice. Students must be accompanied by a parent between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. The offer is valid only while supplies last; there is no group redemption, and child must be present for offer and no substitutions. Please note, students who are late for class during AIMS testing will not be admitted to class once testing has started and will have to make-up the tests at a later date. Bucks for bytes is the school's fundraising effort to raise money to update technology on campus. Students (and staff-for a higher price!) may 'dress-down' on Mondays in April. Clothing must adhere to the school dress code rules Mrs. Lyon, PTO president, announced the raffle ticket drawn for the Diamondback tickets was drawn at Skateland. The winner of the tickets was none other than Ms. Hay! Ms. Hirsch, School leader, thanked everyone for their support and participation! Gilbert Arts Academy has 4 tickets for the opening day Arizona Diamondback season. The tickets are being offered for raffle, $1.00,1 raffle ticket or $5.00 for 6 raffle tickets. The tickets for the April 6th, Diamondbacks vs. Giants game, will be drawn and announced at the Skateland fundraiser on April 4, 2012. Winner does not need to be present to win. Call the school office for more information. Ms. Hirsch, principal at Gilbert Arts Academy, recently announced a change in school uniform beginning in the next school year. The uniform will be streamlined to khaki pants or shorts with red, black or gray, solid polo shirts. A sample is in the school office and photos will be posted to the website soon. Mark your calendars, dates for our students' musical performances have just been published! The grade levels and dates have been added to our online calendar. If you wish to check out the songs and scripts in advance, please click on the link under the 'Fine Arts' tab Gilbert Arts Academy recently introduced our new Be a Star (BAS) behavior program during Flag Ceremony on February 29th. This is a school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support program encouraging students to be Safe, Kind and Responsible in their words and actions. Proper, responsible behavior is very important to creating a successful and safe learning environment for everyone. We will stress the importance of following rules and being kind to one another.
